Best 964 Suspension Upgrade?
Hi, I'd like to get your opinions for Lowering and upgrading the stock suspension on a 1992 964 C2 for mostly street use (occasional AutoX Events).
TIA!

Simplest and cheapest is the Euro M030 setup or Bielstien HDs with springs of your choice.
Next step up is an udjustable setup like PSS-9's or JIC Cross. These allow you to "tune" the suspension to your desired feel and performance. They cost a bunch more (2-3x) that the simple shocks and springs route.
Don't forget that you will need a corner balance and alignment after the install and that runs about $500 (out here at least).
Suspensions are very subjective. What some love, others hate. You really should try to ride in a few cars with the different options to see what you like. There are a number of Chicagoland 993 guys with different set-ups.
I put PSS-9s on my 993 as, at the time, it was a dual use street/track car and it was really nice to change the adjustment for street, autox or DE. I put the JIC Cross competition suspension into the 964 as I thought it was a better suspension for nearly the same money (more adjusments, included camber plates, etc.).

Here is Joey B's MacDaddy 964 Suspension Thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ght=suspension if you do a search in the 964 thread for "suspension" a bunch of others will come up.
I just put PSS9s on mine and couldn't be happier.

Hey Frank,
What are you up to? I'm looking at your sig and it says 993/964--do you own two p-cars, now?
The mac daddy thread is pretty good but there's always new stuff coming out. Search for the JIC Cross and LEDA write up's as well.
I'll be at RA Memorial Day weekend if you want to check out my new setup. Take care!

Hey Joey,
I got a new Cayenne S for X-Mas.
BTW, my black 911 is actually a 1992 964 C2 Cab. professionally (all new OEM parts w/1995 993 engine & transmission) converted into a 993 C2 Cab. (except its suspension) done by the PO (a factory trained Porsche mechanic) at Champion Porsche in FL.
I thought you I had told you? You could'nt tell unless I told you or you looked at the undercarriage.
I've reserved at the Osthoff Resort during Labor Day weekend - We could'nt make it Memorial Day weekend.
Have fun! I'll check out those sites, Thanks!

I just ordered H&R Sport springs and Bilstein HDs... Today. IMO the Euro M030 don't lower the car enough. I will be adding the factory upper strut tower brace soon.

I have heard that adding beefy adjustable sway bars - especially an adjustble REAR sway bar - can be a significant improvement over stock. But I can't vouch for this personally because it's still on my list of upgrades.
Good luck.

Erick, the adjustable sway makes a world of difference. My 993 has the RS sways and my 964 has TRG sways. I started with a 19 mm in the rear and it was not big enough (with a 25 in front). I now have a 21 (or is it 22?) in back and it's very nice.

That's what I was hoping for! Thanks Tom. I'll bump it up a couple of places on my growing list of upgrade wants.
Anyone have experience with adding ONLY the rear TRG adjustable rear, and keeping the stock M030 front?
