Default Different size tail lights

Anybody have any more info on this?

There seem to exist 2 different tail light sizes?

Both look exactly the same but the lower one seems to have shrunk in the washer...
Has a 964 part number on it though 964.631.907.00.
also mentions valeo 301.151

I would bet that the bottom one is after market and not an original Porsche part.
Does it have the Porsche triangle symbol on it?

There is a triangle on it.
But even if it would be aftermarket, why would an aftermarket part be this much smaller?

I am assuming the difference comes from
either being a US vs ROW part
or turbo/widebody/rs/... version

but would like confirmation.

looking at FVD website, the package sizes for ROW and US tail lights are different, so maybe that's just it?

Could be the way they’re stacked, as there shouldn’t be any dimensional differences between NA and RoW, or NB and WB.

well yes, I put the ones I have on my car next to the ones I bought second hand and they are a different size, but otherwise look the same
the picture I posted came from another forum but no answer on that one.

just wondering which car the smaller ones might belong to so I can re-sell them the right way

You say you bought it 2nd hand. Any chance you can ask the seller where he got it from?
