Default Spoiler warning light problem

Hi All,

Recently got my 1990 C2 cab back on the road. It has a problem with the spoiler warning light which it had before it was laid up for a while and I’m now trying to sort it out.

The warning light comes on at start up but doesn’t go off after starting driving as it should. It stays on all the time. It used to flick on and off whilst driving, but it has now got bad enough that it stays on all the time. The central ! light also comes on as I drive.

The spoiler works fine in all aspects - auto and manual function is perfect.

Can anyone please suggest how I can go about diagnosing the problem? Is it likely to be a spoiler control unit problem and if so, how can I test this?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Cheers,

Jeremy.

Hi All,

Anyone have any thoughts on this please? Particularly interested in how I can test my spoiler control unit. Does anyone have any guidance or wiring diagrams please?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Jeremy.

Hey there Jeremy, I don't have any direct experience with this. My spoiler control unit had another issue all together and I replaced it.
But I did find this in a search, might help you out.

Here's a schematic of the controller that I drew up.

I've had a similar problem with mine, posted in another thread.

My light often doesn't come on at startup. Then it comes on reliably at 72mph, with the central warning light, and goes out when I slow below 72mph.

I've been through the various troubleshooting theories, and even have Tores controller fitted now, but it's entirely reliable in its unreliability......

JeremyG - ping me if you'd like to borrow my OEM controller to try for fault finding.
