Default Sleepers SSK install questions / help

I’m sure I will have more questions but firstly… From diagrams I had expected the forward rod to be attached to a bracket. Mine seems to be attached to the centre tunnel itself. What’s the best way to remove the forward rod?

I tried to lever it from the shift end but it seems to be on there quite tight.

Hi, this kind of mounting appears only on the C4 because of the central tube. To get it out put a loop of wire or a tight rope around the joint in front and put the joint out with a heavy weight or similar. Be aware to catch the lever it when it drops.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try.

I didn’t want to cause damage levering against something I shouldn’t…

I'm going to try this later but I did try putting almost my entire body weight on it and it didn't seem to want to move at all...

All of this is new to me, so I’ve discovered a bit of force was required…

On to the next stage! This is even more fun than my Lego 911…

Done.

It's provided a significant shortening of the throw and it seems like the gear **** sits slightly higher even on it's lowest setting.

I'm going to have a play with adjusting the forward rod length to get the position exactly as I want it and then pop the interior bits back in place, but I'm pleased with it so far and it was quite straightforward. I didn't even have any parts left over at the end...
