Default LC = Cashmere Beige

After a quick call to Porsche Cars North America, a very nice young lady named Shannon informed me that code "LC" for an 1991 964 translates to a carpet code of 8UT which is Cashmere Beige. Which is what I thought it was, but now I am certain .

yes, the codes are different for each year. it is very likley that you do have cashmere beige. just call Porsche Cars of North America. they will confirm it.

Jason, this was the total quote I put together seperated into materials and labor (quoted by a local outfit: mrstitch.com). It uses the most expensive parts and leather rather than vinyl:

upholstery:

CARPET SET: $310.00
DOOR AND REAR QUARTER PANEL KIT: leather $600.00
DOOR HANDLE AND LID REPAIR KIT $165.00
DOOR POCKET CARPET PIECES: $060.00
DOOR POCKETS: $230.00
FRONT STANDARD SEAT UPHOLSTERY KIT $960.00 pr
REAR SEAT UPHOLSTERY KIT leather $264.00 pr
TOTAL: $2589.00

Upholstery labor:

Carpet: 12 hours @ $48.00 $576.00
Front seats @ $192 each $384.00
Rear Seats: 6 Hours @ $48.00 $288.00
Door panels: 3 hours 2 $48.00 $144.00
TOTAL: $1392.00

Im not actually doing carpet, I am about to order sub woofers from Car Audio Innovations, and I need those to match my exsisting carpet. I am dying to get some bass in my car. Just did a new head unit , amp and four new speakers. Only need the subs and I will be one Rockin OLD dude

That's a pretty good deal on carpets, are they Porsche or OEM? Over here my quotes have been $740, + more for the over set, it's put me off doing mine for a while.....

Ian,

£440+ the horrible, and then about £100 or so for the over mats.... I did find a carpet manufacturer that made them for the auto trade 1 metre widths cost about £7/metre, but lost the damn details after a recent forced PC format......

I tried Forest Fine as well, and the cost is similar, as is type911, seems like a retail price maintenance thing to me, I just can't believe the prices.

Not sure, but don't think this included labour.........

Oh and I'm no cheapskate (after the K&N thing) I just demand value for money, if I don't get it I vote with my feet/wallet.

Kevin.......................hoping he's not raised any hackles today.

Some how I doubt it, but ya' never know, and I certainly don't ho hum......
Anyways seriously it's a lot a spondoolies for some carpet that really needs to be better quality wise.....
I don't have much to compare it to, but my old faithful Audi 10 years (8 1/2 years in my hands) young, German built, 175,000mls and counting still has carpets that make the Porsche look like it came from the Eastern block.........

arhhhhhhh

Lon-
Doesn't Rod Birch supply the carpet the subs anymore? He made my cashmere beige sub and it matched okay.
