Default Weeping timing chain cover (not warping) advice

Good morning!

i have a weeping right side timing chain cover. I’m replacing the motor mounts and engine cradle, and thought it would be a good time to change the oil and do the timing chain fix while in there and the tins out of the way.

I bought the complete kit with gaskets and hardware. The left side is not leaking but while in there should I replace both sides?

Am I poking a sleeping bear, or is it the right thing to do both sides at the same time while I’m in there?

Thank you

ps, what torque wrench (1/4” drive?) are you guys using to get up in there with the motor still in the car. Last, did I read 5 ft/lbs?

How bad is the weep? Are you doing the work yourself? Not a terrible job, just time. And the likelihood of a weep when you are done is high...but you can go back in and retorque if need be...

Sorry your entire post hadn't loaded .

Cdi 1/4 inch torque wrench is the way to go...You can buy on Amazon. They are very good.

Only fix the box that is leaking. You are never poking a bear if you dive in and diy...

Thanks dude. I’ve been meaning to get up your way to shake hands at some point and check out your setup. Spring time I guess!

A light coat of Curil T on the rubber gasket is a good insurance policy.
