Hi
I have been reading with horror how this has been happening to others.
Got into the car on saturday to find the release handle had plently of play.
My nightmare had come true. Now I have read a couple of posts on the emergency release cable.
Which wing is it in, does it make a difference if its LHD or RHD.
I have a Euro LHD 1991, will it be in the drivers side left hand wing. I have taken the lining out of the wings and this was a feat in itself as I did not have a jack or tools to remove the wheels as they are nicely locked away.
So answers on a postcard please and if anyone can tell me where in the wing the emergency release is and what it looks like, I would be realy grateful (picture would be really nice).
Thanks
Rob

I thought the emergency release cable (if it's fitted) was behind the indicators? But I may be completely wrong.
I've also read the horror stories - and keep meaning to fit one since I'm sure I don't have one. It's just one of those things that you never get around to until it's too late - which I guess you've found. I really will do mine at the weekend.......

I searched for the cable once, it's located in the left front wheel arch, near the indicators. You have to remove the mud fender inside the wheel arch, and there you will find a steel cable with a loop. It goes thru the body to the bonnet lock, Should be very easy to do.
Good luck!!

Take it easy, otherwise some plastic parts will brake. Take your time, rush will cost you I am afraid. I hope you find it. It's near the condensor of your airco under your left head light. I should be there. May be you will have a lucky evening now.
