Default Can someone identify this part

Looks like it was installed afterwards from one of the previous owner, but what is it? Does it belong to the a/c which I‘m about to remove?

The servo on the left side looks wonky maybe the silver thing is wires trying to make it work all that is just a guess though

What I can confirm is, that the silver thing is a kind of temparature sensor!

Maybe someone tried to jury rig a non-OE evaporator temperature probe.

The part # for the factory piece is 964.618.943.00, assuming that my guess is correct.

Isn’t this the sensor that is inserted into the evaporator?
