narrow body 964 18 vs 17 inch wheels ?
Car came with 16. I ran 17 for a while , been strictly 18 for a few years but thinking maybe 17 look more appropriate. is it just me?

I have 2 sets of wheels for this exact reason. I go back and forth just to mix it up.
The original 17 inch Cup One wheels.
3 piece BBS E88 18 inch wheels.

I like the 17's on some cars and the 18's on others. I really like the Cup 1's with the car set up a certain way but like the 18's on some cars. It is more than just the wheels. Some cars just look set up right with a certain set of wheels. Other cars can look not quite right on either size. I like the car low - but not too low. I also like some 18" wheels better than other and some 17" wheels better than others. I guess that's not much help. Above - I like the RS/winged car better with the BBS 18's. I like my Targa better with the Cup 1's.

IMO the 18's look far more aggressive but I also have 2 sets of each if I chose to swap them out.
A friend sent me this the other day it was at the meadowlands 9 years ago to the day last Saturday. Still running these wheels and no issues.

I was kidding… I raced the wheels off of that car (bad choice of words!) for years with 18s without one incident. Granted, everything on the car has been reinforced, replaced or modified with race spec parts. It’s now retired with the bones of a race car. It’s the reason I have the E88s on as it was one of the modifications.
I agree on the look of the E88s on winged cars. I love Cup Ones on non winged and especially Targas!

Ohh NO, NO, Please don't throw them out - I would just sell them (at full price) to some poor soul who still hasn't yet gotten the 1993 memo

I like the look of both sizes although I can only vouch for using 17" wheels. I have some CUP 2's and BBS wheels, both are 17".
I can see (because it's certainly a thing) good performance 17" tires in the sizes I require becoming increasingly difficult to find, compared to 18".
My Michelin PS2's will need to be replaced soon. I fooled with ordering some last week; they're no longer produced. Luckily, the newer PS4S are offered.

I know you're just playing and I know there's pictures of Adrian Streather's 964 on 19" Sportec wheels in the 964 bible, but...
19"s on a 964 are sooo cringe.

Yes, you will notice no mention of 19s in my post.
