Default AC in a car without AC options code?

Hey guys,
Seems like I'm finally really close to buying a 964.
I'm looking at this rather dilapidated 1990 oak green 964 c4, which does not have AC (573) listed in the option codes sticker, but the panel does have the snowflake buttons. How would you interpret this? Is it possible that for example American market cars had AC as standard and it is not always listed on stickers?
Thank you for any thoughts.

That is a Porsche 993 Climate Control Unit, not original to your car.

By the way, serveral rewiring actions must be done to get this unit to work properly in a 964. How many depends on the part number on the unit and how your car is wired.
Cheers,
Tore

Thanks, so if that is not the original climate control unit and the options codes do not include a/c then it probably is safe to assume that the car does not have a/c or if does, then it probably is not original to the car, right?

My ‘91 doesn’t have A/C listed as an option but has it. North American cars had it standard (RSA not applicable).

I would start with checking if the car has a compressor, condenser and evaporator and necessary plumbing.

good point, but easier said than done. I'm in Europe and the car is in Hawaii.
so this is the compressor, right?

Just an FYI - that car was discussed in the "Great American 964s for Sale" thread - apparently there is undisclosed flood damage. Caveat emptor:

Oak Green 964 - Hawaii
