OK,

I actually like my Tiptronic transmission: In stop and go I have a nice automatic and otherwise I can shift by hand.
Same reason why I have PDK in my 997 (by the way my Tiptronic actually shifts nicer than my PDK)

However I do not like the look of the shift cover.
So I bought an old shifter from a forum member and using this the old shifter cover got replaced with a nice leather boot.
I like this look sooooooo much better.
In total it took less than 2h.

• Remove Tiptronic shift ****
• Remove center console
• Pop old shift gate out
• Cut leather boot on shift boot to size
• Pop leather shift cover in (that was the biggest PITA)
• Replace center console
• Replace Tiptronic shift ****

I really like this idea. It’s going on my list as a lower priority. Kick it up a notch with a fake clutch pedal! No one needs to know!!!
