I used Hagerty for '81 SC in the early 2000's as the premium was reasonable. I had them quote my Turbo before I bought it and they were stupid expensive, so I switched to Grundy. I was getting hit with a yearly rate increase of 4% for a few years until I switched over to a historic license plate. This dropped my premium by 50% and it has remained stable.

I have Porsche stated value insurance at 150k and pay for the miles.
I send a text with mileage every 6 months. 230 per six months with mileage charge over 2 k miles or something like that.

If anyone is interested I can get the exact details.

I called LW and was not impressed.

I then talked to our general carrier who handles an umbrella of insurance instruments for my family and extended family.

They recommended Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Co. PHLY with a Liberty Bell Logo

Very good rates. They have automatically updated the cars value over the years. Very pleased.

Typical stored in a locked garage, cant drive to work, yada yada.

I have been using Chubb for about 5 years. I like them, left Hagerty.

great deal! I had Grundy in the past great company and no issue paying claims.

ill second Grundy, almost half of Heacock and Hagerty haven’t moved yet but it’s sure enticing.

I am in CT and called the 800 number. Active in Oregon, Illinois & Georgia. Filed paperwork for TX CA AZ FL for springtime launch. They take your name and call when they activate in your state.

I'll add a CT story - friends bought the condo next to mine and an SL500. Used some mom and pop insurance place in Stratford, the kind of place you wonder how it exists in this century. The quote obliterated anything from the big corporate folks. I got a quote and found same, even though I've been with one or another of them for years with a great record. Had same experience when Refi mortgage. Local destroyed huge bank, one where I thought I got treated well b/c of long family history etc. Take away is shop around...

Anybody else have a comment about Grundy? They quoted literaly 1/2 what Hagerty did! for more coverage, $0 deductible (versus 1k) and full glass (versus 1k ded)
AND Unlimited mileage! All for $650 / yr ? $50k valuation .... Almost too good to be true??

Anybody out there have experience with this company???

I went with Grundy as well and the price was about 1/2 Heacock as well as Hagerty. I could not see any difference other than Grundy is a bit more specific that this is a collector car policy and not a daily driver.

I went with Safeco after checking all the others mentioned here, in no small detail. $840 a year, 5000 miles, drive to work, park anywhere and a $90k stated value no questions asked. They bill my Amex $70 a month so you even get the miles.

Caveat: the Safeco agent was not aware of the program and had to call in to HQ to find out the details

I’ve had Grundy for several years. No issues but haven’t tried to make a claim. I increased my agreed value substantially this year to reflect the market without any problems.

I got a quote from them for my GT3 but it was much higher than what I pay for my 964. 🤷‍♂️

Grundy was specific however, that each driver in the household have a daily driving car.... Its only my wife and I and we have cars.... even though my Porsche is not the main / daily driver.. they said it could be an issue if/when a claim is submitted. Rep said they most likely would pay the claim then not renew my upcoming policy... however it is possible they could deny the claim as well...

Thanks for good info on this topic.
Hagerty was definitely a waste of time......I gave them a whole log of vehicles including Pcars of 2, 12, 22 years old and from the whole list they were only interested in insuring a 22 year older Benz.
