Default Clip left over from door panel disassembly

Found this clip on the garage floor after taking the door panel off to rewire the aero mirror. I don’t remember taking it off. Any idea where it goes??

Part looks like 999 116 008 02

It clips on to the bottom of the pin that holds the door check/stop (the lever looking bit in between the two hinges).

Ok that makes sense. When my car was repainted I asked them to replace that. Must be the old one. Thanks
