Default Headlight surround gaskets and gap

I noticed on some pictures that some 964 ( euro versions fitted with the cosmetic body coloured ring and only the bottom visible screw ) seem to have almost no gap at all where others have the gasket really visible and they leave a visible gap between the ring and the fender.

I tried to fit them without gasket at all and in fact you can snap the headlight in a tighter way to the fender that looks much nicer and well adjusted and I was wondering if it s a known modification to maybe fith a custom very thin gasket or no gasket?

What style of headlight do you have? H4 or H5? The H4 is attached with a single screw at the bottom plus a lip at the top. H4's have an optional trim ring that is paintable and it partially covers the gasket. I have these and this is what my headlights look like.
