At Last! I have a 964!!
I have wanted a car like this since before cars like this were made. As a child, my dad took me to see a new car on the floor of the Chevy showroom – a 1954 Corvette, white of course with the BlueFlame engine and bright red interior. While we were there a guy pulled up in a car I would learn years later was a 356A in blue. My dad asked me which I liked best. I told him “the blue one.” That was the first Porsche I ever saw, or at least recall seeing. Foolishly, it has taken me this long to get my first Porsche.
I got it last week, after searching for eight months, driving seven 964s, having two PPIs, and barraging all of you with newbie questions. Thank you for your patience. (So far!) I hope I got a good one. I paid a lot more for it than I’d planned, but it has most everything done to it that I’d have wanted to do … and of course I don’t have to pay for those things now, do I? (How very practical of me.) And it seems in good shape. Thanks to all. J

Looks awesome - how does it sound? One of the things I love most about mine is the deep burble at idle, which I would think would be enhanced in a car like this. It looks like a screamer!

Of course I think it sounds great, but even my wife doesn't mind it so it must not be too offensive. The idle is nice and gets great looks, and a whole other thing starts to happen around 3500 rpm as you know. But it will be awhile before it does too much screaming as I want to give the local gendarmes a chance to get used to seeing it at legal speeds, and also because this is quite a step up for the driver -- the car I just sold was a turbo Miata so this is quite a bit different. Wow, that does look like it was worth the wait. Now, if you can just get rid of this snow, we can go for a drive!

(I just got my car back with the HR & Koni's installed, it made huge difference in the feel (94k miles on original suspension....), but I can't really do too much with the snow.......figures.....)
