Default Numbers time again. 1990 coupes help needed.

So I had checked most all of the last vin numbers years ago against a known source using a portal to the factory system until I got locked out. I did not focus on some MY cars and 1990 C2/C4 coupes was one. Using what is published there should be only 1257 1990 coupes imported to the US with vin number 1317 being the last. Well apparently that isn't the case. I looked at a 90 C4 yesterday with a vin ending in 1964. This would add 647 coupes to the 1990 MY production. Brining the total MY '90 coupes to 1904 instead of 1257 which is a huge increase. That would bring total coupe production from 5106 to 5753. In some ways that is good news for those looking but makes these less rare. This is the first 90 with a vin number this high I have seen.

I am looking for vin numbers between 1317 and 1964 or above. I am curious what others might have and you can say yes or post your vin numbers if you have something above 1317 and especially anything above 1964. If you have a 90 with vin below 1317 no need to post.

Thanks for your help in advance.

This thread has several 90s over your number, from 1500 up to 2010 for USA.

It appears there is one as high as 2280 so the 90's numbers are way off and this means far more 90's were imported than even this 1964 vin. Not sure how Adrian and others got this so wrong as well.

Anthony-

I wonder however if somehow they didn't skip some numbers in there? The only reason I ask is I looked at my database of 1990MY 964 Coupes that I have had over the years (C2&C4) and out of 20 cars only 1 was over that number and by a huge margin (ending in 2025). It would seem statistically out of whack that if the numbers were contagious with a sample size that large that I would have only one over 1900, although I had 2 between 1317 and 1900.

Could they have been special order after scheduled dealer deliveries?

You know as well as I anything is possible during these years. I know you look at a lot of these as well as I but every now and then something comes out of left field. This is the first I have seen or at least took notice of. By now I agree more should have surfaced.

Let’s see if we can make sense of this. I have an April 19, 1990 build date. Nice build sheet

BTW enjoyed the spyder comparison
