Bought the 5000# rated unit for $1,199 from Costco and it was delivered today. Could of purchased the 7000# lift for 50 clams more but did not want to wait 6 weeks.
Which rubber blocks did you use? I’m using a jackpad and the thicker block but apparently you can stack the 2 blocks safely through short way and eek out a few more inches.
Thanks for sharing. Between this and jackpoint jack stands eventually. I think I would do something similar to what you did and still put jack stands underneath, just in case.
I have really enjoyed my QuickJack as well. I actually used it in the driveway the other day to do the brakes on my SQ5 daily driver, couldn't have been easier.
On the 964 I am using the thick blocks plus some hockey pucks from Amazon. However, I left the car up for a few weeks and the hockey pucks completely deformed.
I have a set of the ESCO jack stands, and they fit perfectly "inside" of the Quickjack when raised, which admittedly provides some extra piece of mind.
I bought a Quickjack early last year, and I love it. Has been extremely useful. I installed coil overs on my 964 with it, and being able to quickly and easily lift the car off of the ground to make the fine tuning height adjustments to the coil overs saved me so much time. Can’t imagine doing that over and over and over with a floor jack....
.... actually, I can. I have been using floor jacks for close to 20 years. It would have sucked immensely.
Do you think on the highest setting this would be adequate and reasonable to do the following on a c2.
1) a transmission only out and replacement
2) an engine out with intake removed first in engine bay and I guess reassembled in engine bay.
3) an engine out and replacement with intake attached
I use the normal blocks and it’s not high enough to drop the engine. IIRC, I have about 3 or so inches of room from the floor to get it higher if I used something else besides the normal block.
People on pelican have done drops though. I think the common approach is to raise it on the QJ, lower it on jack stands to hold it up, then lower the QJ and put bigger blocks (or stack normal and SUV blocks) or something else on it that can raise the car even higher to allow those types of drops.
I purchased the 5000 SLX model before I tore into my suspension project.
What a handy thing to have, it really worked perfectly although the initial set up to the car takes a bit of time to get right (in my experience).
Best part they are hanging on the wall with the optional wall hangers they sell.
Really happy I got one after all these years.

this makes sense and seems reasonable. Thanks for the tip!
