I have H4's in both of my cars. This thread mentions H1's in 964s but not much detail. You may want to ask on that thread, since a few people state they have them.

I found a thread on Pelican about the differences between the H1's and H4's.

Yes They are the same dimensionally as the H4's I run them on my C2.

I like the clean look of the H1 and they throw a nicer light with the ability to adjust both high and low beams individually. i Used to run these years ago with a relay and wired them so I could run 100 watt bulbs in both hi and low beams and at the same time. Almost as good as LED's but not as white.

I have a few pairs of them but it appears values have dropped considerably since LED's came out. These are worth more to a longnose owner who wants period correct.

I have one of the last sets manufactured in 1985 in like new condition but need to use the external rings to cover the chrome. I also have brand new yellow lenses I was considering but might be a bit much and I don't know how it impacts the lighting.

Been thinking about up grading my H5's. Purchased some LED's but didn't like the look of the lenses. Have been looking for H4's and was offered some H1's although they were bit pricey for the condition.

Eric Linden from Auto Foreign Service (see Early911SRegistry) is making beautiful reproductions of H1's.

Great point...

He is selling sets for less than the used originals I was looking at and he's located within 5 miles of my house.

I used these, chrome rings and all, and love them FCP often has $25 off >$250 and I used that twice, buying each lite individually, making the total spend <$500. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/por...et-91163111300
