Do you mean the rear shocks? The details are in the factory workshop manual, section 42. The gist is you remove the air cleaner box and the heater fan to make room to remove the 3 M8 nuts at the top of each shock. Once those are removed, you remove the large bolt at the bottom of the shock. I used an impact gun.

I'm in the process of renewing my shocks and struts so this is all fresh in my mind. Let me know if you need anything else.

thanks rob, but i am talking about the inner struts, they call 'em swords over here they are connected to the wishbones at the outer and i think to the chassis inside, still don't have it clear how deep one must go to redo/renew them...ERP and elephant have replacements, all spendy, but i will get it done eventually

Goughary has a detailed thread of rebuilding the suspension. He has done an excellent job of documenting the steps. Good luck with the project. Keep us posted.

I replaced my spring plates (swords) supplied by Tarret Engineering. It is tight on the right side plate, but doable without dropping the transmission, albeit others do. You will need stubby hex keys. Here is my thread and a few pics https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...e-install.html

seems he bought replacement bushings for the spring plates...i am under the impression, perhaps mistakenly, that bushings alone aren't available, must buy the whole piece and form porsche they are over a grand each, i have seen them for less from a hop named ERP and also from elephant, but still over $700(+/-) or something ridiculous, found used ones at a dismantle shop for €400, HOWEVER, i would of course rather do bushings...any info out there on this?

I don’t know where Rob got his from, but Elephant has replacement spring plate bushings for $590.

LPMM is right you can buy new bushes and refurbish the old spring plates or do a core exchange. I came to the conclusion that the delta cost between buying new bearing style spring plates and re-bushing the new style of spring plates was the choice for me. At least there is a choice
