I hear you guys I once owned a 72 911S - 40k miles rose red one a handful painted in that color, was a $200-250k car five years ago. As someone previously said there is a reason I still have this particular car, time to drag it out and drive it like I stole it!
I can do simple repairs after that I have a great local shop that works on my BMW race cars and my Porsche's - very lucky to have a shop like that in Bozeman.
You said you don't need the money so if it were me, no way you should sell it. I would remove the numbers, install a stock rear decklid and drive it on the weekends. Those cars wouldn't be considered that stiff by today's standards so I wouldn't even swap out the suspension. Have a more street friendly alignment done so it doesn't eat tires.
I get that you feel guilty about not driving it much. I hadn't driven my C2 since November until 3 weeks ago when I pulled it out and went on a drive with some friends. Social distancing on some country roads. When I walk by it in the garage daily and see it sitting there, I have thoughts of selling it since I don't drive it that much. Then I take it out and those thoughts disappear. I know I would be kicking myself before I deposit the check if I were to sell it. I say keep it and enjoy it.
Don't worry about how much you use it. It's yours, that alone should make you feel happy. Owned for 14 years already, just keep it.

Convert car back to full street specs- this seems like sacrilege to me as car as it sits is mostly correct for it's intended use. If it was not one on the original conversion cars and had been reconverted by someones besides Andial maybe I could talk myself into this route but I doubt it. Anyway let's have some fun here curious what others think.
I have a reasonably rare 993 that spends most of its life in climate controlled storage. I get 3-6 unsolicited offers each year to buy the car. The car has been to a few car shows, pictured here and on other sites, and sits in a large facility with many other classics and collectibles. I recently received what I considered an above market offer from a collector and I considered selling and ultimately came to the following conclusion. I don’t need the money right now. Sure I could sell and replace with another cool car but why?
Ultimately I said I cant replace her with something just as cool and interesting without spending a lot more. I have a couple of other cars I enjoy. The value isn’t going down. So there she sits in her climate controlled home with an occasional spin on some back roads and wash and then rolled back to her resting place.
what dampers are on the car? Mine has the "street RS" dampers that came with it when it rolled off the boat. I also have the cup car inverted dampers that were intended for its race car conversion that were never installed. I'm assuming they would be too harsh for road use, but wondered if you had experience with them.

Matt mine is on the race dampers, it's been a very long time (2006) since I drove on the street - I drove it from Bozeman to Tooele UT so I could race it, only thing I remember is freezing my butt off on drive since car had no heat. Thinking back on that I don't know what the hell I was thinking, I can't even remember how I got home as I left car at track. I don't remember ride being particularly harsh but I'm kinda of a knucklehead and have owned a lot of street cars with race shocks always liked the firm ride.
Agree to keep it if you can. I have the large blue 964 Book since purchase of my '91 C2 Coupe a year ago - learning about the RS and Cup models is fascinating - recently watched several YouTube videos of Cup Car ads and races in Europe - just so special.
Hello Phil, Really great car. Keep it if you can but between the suspension, the roll cage, no power steering no air, it is not really a good street car . I have gone through a 93 C2, 92 RSA , a 92 euro Cup (race car), 90 C2 pca GT race car, and 92 c2 daily driver for the last 10 years. Without a doubt the stock 964 has been the most enjoyable on the street.
Jeff, great to hear from you hope all is well. I hear you, not expecting to use car for anymore than an occasional rip around some windy MT roads. I have two other track cars that I can stuff into a wall and not care but this one is not replaceable.
Phil
It has been a long time since we chatted. One of my favorite cars I have owned - 92 US Cup. I owned, DE'd and club raced it for 5+ years. Think it had 8k miles on it when I bought it. I did regret selling the car for a while. I was very attached to mine, as I am sure you are to yours. The thing is - there are in fact US Cups for sale out there. There are many more than 8- 10 in existence. I know of prob 14 myself locally not including anything for sale. I was offered one recently and passed. Just did not sort of light my fire like it use to. Please dont take this as anything negative - just how I felt when I sold it, and how I feel about it now. If you can afford to keep it, and buy something else to have fun with - thats what I would do. There are 964 RSs all over the place in the US for sale now. As TJ said - they are sort of the thing to get here in the US now if you are a 964 man. 964 turbo 3.6 always another one. Hey Mike I hope all is well with you.
So Phil, keep it if you can afford it, and still be able to buy drive another car that you want.
