fyi and to answer Cobalt about how Haggerty gets its values; they ask their customers what they think their cars are worth and insure them for that and use it as market data. Yes most owners thing their cars are worth more than market so Haggerty is usually high on values. This is verified info btw.
to the OP your car looks very nice and IMO could sell for more as good 964s are hard to come by these days. I would get ppi and start at 60.

exactly, and that would even be pushing it, I’d think $40,000 from the pics and the color , $55,000 for 165,000 mile 964 is dreamer Territorry , people keep quoting BAT as if it’s simple and easy selling a car on BAT. The guys getting top dollar there are getting it based not only on their cars but on their reputation.

Thanks for the data point. Did it have 993 handles too? :P I know some people like them, some dont on the 964s. I have the original black ones. Can also reverse them back. I think the 993s look nice with the aero mirrors.
As Matt said earlier. I think the car deserves the right buyer. And the dreamers remark. I just laugh it off. It's interesting to see two camps emerge on the prices of 964. One is in favor of well kept late year cars. And another camp, not so much when a car has higher miles.
I thought selling the car in winter would face less competitions as sellers are holding until spring?

I have 165k miles on my car and turned down $60k from a good friend and serious buyer. Prices are all over the place, I don't think "dreamer" is the right word. The red/ beige car on BAT today was RSM at $55k and had some iffy work done; the seats recovered by Helen Keller. I wouldn't auction a car the day after New year but come spring there is going to be a lot of money chasing a red car, try then on BAT and here too with a PPI and a firm asking price.

I think 993 handles look great with Aero mirrors, but there is a whole crew here that don't like Aeros either. I take a raft of poop over my twist wheels that came with the car; I should have Cup 1s like everyone else.
I just don't think Jan 2nd is a hot auction time, so many folks away still. As for mileage; I came to the 964 via longhoods, most had been around the clock at least twice, no one knew for sure and no one batted an eyelid. The car either comes from a good home or it doesn't and it shows. My car doesn't look like a high miles car, or drive like it needs anything, so much has been changed/improved. Discussed elsewhere on this board a thread covers the inane obsession with miles on 28 year old cars. One guy brags he rations the miles so it stays under 100k. I feel sorry for him.Garage queens always seem to drive grumpy to me. 40,000 miles on a 964 would appear like someone hated that car.

A lot of people won't give you credit for the mods. If you still have the original brakes, headlights, etc you could make pretty good money returning to stock and selling those parts separately. Just sayin.

I have some original parts. primary exhaust, motor spoiler, interior pieces, etc. but it's not practical for me to convert them back due to time constraint. The RS interior might not be for everyone. But I am surprised that potential buyers don't want the upgrades as they are proven to be the upgrades to put in when you refresh these cars. Not saying they will increase value. Those mods shouldn't de-value the car right? I would hate to convert back to stock then decide to keep the car :/

Sorry but no, $40,000 yes maybe but $55,000 , sure if it was fully sorted out and was a 1992 or newer, with 60,000 less miles and you removed that wing and put original deck lid . people want crazy figures for these cars and they are sitting unsold for months

Could you share some data points? I am curious to see these unsold examples to have a comparison. I am not following the market in the last 2 years.

Interesting perspectives. I see both sides rationale however.... I am confused how we all seem to see these cars. There is no chart or magazine valuation that corresponds with any of the cars I know and have seen trade hands. Those that fit into some of these brackets I can rip apart and show why they are overpriced junk not worth buying.
There is such a disparity amongst these that no two are alike unless they are original sub 10k mile cars and then we are talking a healthy 6 figure price tag. So many people are buying based on these price valuations only to find the buy in was more a downpayment. IMO those numbers are woefully inaccurate based on what I look at regularly and what I expect any 964 should hold up to. Many don't make the cut but still sell in the $50k range needing a lot of work. I have yet to see a $45k 964 C2 coupe with any mileage that didn't have too much junk in the frunk. A running $30k C2 coupe
I can only imagine what it would cost to bring it up to driveable because that is singer and project car money assuming you can find one. I was offered a roller accident damaged RSA tub no drivetrain for $20k but that is as close as I have seen.
Believe these numbers if you want but I don't. I recently found out I know more about this car than I realized earlier. Of the last 30 964's I have seen sell $55k for this car is far from out of line by any means. The extras IMO are a plus if you want a setup car or the new owner can easily source original parts and make a profit selling the upgrades offsetting the cost.

The two words of truth are: 1. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and 2. is is what the market will bear.
I did a price analysis two or three years ago and I think you have a fair price on your car, however the right person coming along at the right time could be 3-4 months. If you are in a hurry, you will have to take less.
One of my best friends had a Jewish grandmother who had a saying I teach in college; "what the eye hasn't seen, the heart doesn't long for" if you really want to move your car, you need to post it as many places as possible adjusting your price for the associated selling fees. craigslist, e-bay, rennlist, pelican, local paper, trade papers, cars and coffees and so on. five six years ago, I had listed mine for some different reasons and had a firm offer in 24 hours but I cam e to my senses and turned down the offer and am I ever glad that I did.
