STRANGE FIND INSIDE HVAC SUITCASE
At least it is strange to me. I may well have seen one before, but have no recollection of it.
I am presently replacing the evaporator on my '90 model C2, and found this fitting deep onside the HVAC suitcase box. About 8MM thick at the wide end, and 65MM long. The one end is threaded and the other is a ball shape, which might have snapped into another fitting at one time.
Don't know where it came from, or how it ended inside that evaporator box. Would certainly appreciate a response if anyone recognizes this item.

What part of the case did you find that in? Certainly isn't a part of the suitcase. Wonder if it "fell" in through the center vent, maybe something for an old phone kit.

Yes, this is a cell phone antenna.

No, I heard the thing fall out while the lower case half was inverted, so cannot say exactly where it fell from.
I did just now go out and check the threads inside that end of the shaft. They are SAE 10/32 NF.
So we know they did not come with the car from Germany. I accept the opinion that it most likely is from an early cell phone, and must have come in through the intake vent, or maybe even through the footwell flap.
Thanks for the responses fellows, they are very much appreciated.
