Do you guys think brake cleaner is OK for the ISV clean, I read on P-Car.com to use brake cleaner but it seems quite caustic...is there any plastic in there?

Rob,
Use brake cleaner for your ICV and air flow meter clean job. Brake cleaner cleans coal and sludge very fast and dissapears in no time. Does no harm to the components.
You can move the inner part of the ICV with a screw driver [carefully]] and clean all parts of the ICV
Carb, cleaner is no such fine stuff for this job.
After cleaning the ICV, spray it with some WD-40 indside.
No WD-40 on the Air flow meter!!! Just put the thing back in clean condition, this is fine then.
[please take care that no thing will fall in the intake manifolt!!!! Put in some paper for protection while working there and don't forget to remove it afterwards]
