Cupcar,

I just came back from the Porsche Dealer. I used the numbers posted on this site to purchase the same bar you have pictured above. The bar is made by Heigo. It is very light compared to some of the bars I have seen. The part number I used to purchase it from Porsche was 964-343-042-00.

I had the guy check 964-343-529-70 on the microfiche and it came up as you describe larger diameter tube bent 45 degrees flattened with holes.
He said that part number was a German import only so it would be expensive to import it. No returns either.

Very interesting.

I just checked both my parts books for early Carrera Cup, the factory 1992 edition and 1992 Andial parts list for the American Cup cars as well as my receipt from motorsport and the part I posted the photo of is listed as 964.343.529.70 in all three!!!

Now 964.343.529.70 is the number for the late bar and it's 964.343.042.00 that apparently gets you what I got in 1992 with 964.343.529.70 !!!

Confusing...unusal to reassign part numbers like that.

Porsche did it for the entire years production run of US 1993 turbos amongst several other models, why can't they do it for part numbers?
