Isn't it inside the right-side front wheel-arch liner? But I don't think they all have them.

I think only the later ones were fitted with the emergency release cable. Good luck with getting it open Phil! I beleive it involves drilling a small hole under the car to get access to the cable & then the use of a long hook!

No problem with my release, but the question was prompted by a discussion I had about the emergency release under the wheel arch (nope, no prize Boggy). Only some cars have them, but there is some dispute over which ones...
