Default Radio Backlight

After driving one day with my children my Radio Backlight will not go out, draining the battery.

I have a '93 US stock radio with the CD changer from the factory. Not only does the backlight stay on but there is a flashing red light on the right hand side of the radio as well that blicks like the alarm light.

Has anyone experienced this? Could my children have done something to cause by pushing buttons?

I had a problem on my radio - it was stuck in some weird mode and nothing I did could get it to respond. I pulled the fuse for a few minutes, and it was OK after that. So if you haven't tried, pull the radio fuse or disconnect the battery for 10 minutes.
