Wow and what a deal. I have sport seats that are perfect except for some fraying of the piping on the driver’s bolster. Would love to see if the pros could fix that, before I “attempt” too. Will start a thread at some point asking for advice/experience. Your results give me hope.

Ask him about repairing piping if you don’t mind. I’ll look for someone local to me when I get back, but if I can’t locate one I’d be tempted to switch my seat backs (put passenger over to driver’s) and make it a road trip to you. Good excuse right!

If it’s not a surprise, what are you doing with the inserts. Houndstooth or something retro?

Not painting for now? Good choice, your car looked pretty awesome anyway.

I'll ask about the piping when I'm by to pick my seats up. I'm curious to know myself.

Car is black on black. Going with black leather all around with this fabric for the inserts. I may put the same fabric over the passenger side airbag. Will wait on the seats to be complete and installed to determine if I'll do that or not. Don't want to overdo it.

Oh, that's going to look nice. I've got a whole bunch of strome tartan for my family name and am seriously thinking about doing the same with my extra seats eventually.

Love that. Had me thinking that blue seat belts would look nice. Maybe too much.
That gold/yellow ties in nicely with your BBS'

Got the seats back well over a month ago. Been too busy to take pics.

Happy with the finished product. Matching seat belts installed too.

That came out extremely well. You've got me thinking about doing inserts on my SRD's now

Holy crap I love it. Who did you have create the new covers? They look very OE in terms of firms that.

Fella here in Greenville, shop named Bucket Stitch. He's always been the best in this area. I though he'd closed up shop, possibly retiring, but he moved to another part of town and sort of went underground.

When I picked my seats up he was just completing a full interior for a BMW E9. He had a sign on his front door saying he could not even quote work at this time.

Glad you like them!

Wow! Nice seats.
I have the standard seats in mine. Would love to do an upgrade down the road sometime.

Needed to get under the dash for some wiring stuff and, seeing as I'm no longer a contortionist, I decided to remove the seat. The front bolts were next to impossible to get out, not only because they were put in 25 yrs ago, but also because you can't get a Allen socket on them easily. A word of advice: don't use a wobble socket, all you'll end up doing is stripping the head. To get these suckers out I had to use a propane torch, tap on the (short) Allen socket (to get it seated well - there isn't much depth to these bolts), put the ratchet on the socket and then I was able to remove the bolt with some effort. There wasn't any way I was going to reuse those semi-stripped bolts. Went down to Home Depot and purchased a couple of new ones. Fit perfectly.

Is that a fire extinguisher mount on the passenger seat?
