Dunno' about that. I've been doing it for years, no ill effects. Check back with me in 10 years, I'll let you know if my carpet is stretched. Unless you've already tested it.

There are two styles of pocket. I think the later one has a shorter tongue (only one fastener) and a more droopy shape than the earlier one with two.

My '91 has two snaps. I suppose you're supposed to use one snap when storing small objects, and the second snap for storing larger objects. Can't imagine another reason for having 2 fasteners.

Personally I keep a bottle of Glenlivet in there. Just about the best thing you can have in the event of a breakdown.
