Car is being wet sanded and buffed, so might be a few more weeks before I have more photos. In the meantime, some of the various parts are arriving

This is nuts to see without 25 years of scuffs/scratches and oil/road grime. I don't suppose you have the part numbers handy, because I'm feeling a little jealous about the new pork chops and lower grill.

That’s an unusual variety of parts! I replaced those bumper underbody covers and grill recently too. Then properly scuffed it up pulling out of my driveway

Replacement 3.6 p&c? I suppose 3.8 jugs would be controversial on such a rare bird? Though if the ecu is sealed then there are not many options for engine upgrades.

Been quite a while since I've posted an update. Engine is now complete, as the transmission. Body still needs to be wet sanded. Original Speedline wheels are out being refinished by Jim D. Shocks & struts have been rebuilt and refinished. Hopefully will have it all back together for the fall, but one never knows with a project like this!

This is an outstanding thread! Was your car the one co-driven by Pat Long at COTA about 5 years ago or so???

Thanks. It was Alan Benjamin's car that Pat long drove at Sebring,; not sure if it was also at COTA. Alan's is the only other Rubystone cup I know of in the US.

That is my car! Formerly owner by Jerry Greene. He bought a 996 cup which I think he still has.

Very fast lap in a 964 on Thunderbolt. I’m only in the low 1:30’s in a 2010 GT3.

love Rubystone Red, i recently tried to buy a European Cup in Rubystone but the car had shaky documentation for the price they were asking so I passed.

looking forward to following the progress on your refresh.

Thanks! It definitely took a bit of clenching to get going that fast!

Today's early Xmas present was wheels refinished by Jim Dorociak. The quality of his work is just amazing; they are better than new! You can see how ratty they were before in the pics at the bottom!
