Subscribed! Nice to see this car being properly restored. I'm working on a cup tribute, but oh to have the real deal. Great details on the car, now how about some details on that avatar!

i was still racing it hard up through 2018! I set track records for C1 at NJMP, Summit Point, Monticello and High Plains all on an engine that was last rebuilt in 2007! These cars are just built like tanks and can be run for years.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing the process. What’s the plan after the restoration is finished?

If you have a chance, could you snap a pic of the brake master cylinder? And see if there are any pressure rating numbers on the m/c pressure switch? The Cup cars have a switch that disables the abs under high pedal pressure. This is because the abs gets confused in a spin (mine causes the pedal to go solid and not apply any braking..). The pressure switch was the crude solution- if you push harder on the brake pedal, then abs kicks off.

I don’t have a pict handy but the switch is 200 bar, which matches my experience when I’ve had it kick in to disable the ABS. Basically you push as hard as you can!

Thanks for that! I had never seen it mentioned. Sounds like you are intimately familiar with the operation of the pressure switch

Color has been laid down! Still a long way to go, but at least it’s starts to look like a car again.

Looking good. Did they simply paint over all of the rubber plugs?

One more paint picture, and a period photo of my car trailing another team Obermaier car at Zolder. The other car is owned by Rennlister Jupeman aka Charlie.
