Default Bumper Cover source?

I'm looking for a rear (left) bumper cover to repaint. I've tried several parts dealers (i.e., junk yards) online with no luck. The stock piece, new, is $528. Seems I should be able to do better than that. Any suggestions? TIA, J

Okay. I've heard back from 5 places: nothing in stock. I found a carbon fiber rear bumper cover (the whole thing, not just one side!) for $595, only $70 more ... no ideas from anyone? Thanks, anyway. J

How much does Sunset Porsche in Oregon want for the rear bumper cover? With the carbon fiber piece it will take a LOT of work to get it to fit just okay and 2 years from now the piece will shrink and not fit properly. All the aftermarket suppliers are still doing CF layup by hand so you don't get the reduction in weight you'd expect switching from reinforced plastic to carbon fiber. Another big problem is impact resistance or complete lack of because of the resins they use.

Too bad you're not switching to a dual-exhaust muffler because the replacement valance is readily available through a number of sources, e.g. FVD USA, Peformance Products, or Evo Motorsports.

Thanks, Jason. Actually they also have a glass piece (full cover at less $$) but I'd like to stay with the stock components and that contrast sure points out the over-pricing of the part the bodyman offered.

I had the same thought, Joey, but then found the Fabspeed dual outlet is almost a thousand bucks Besides, I'll be real happy with a secondary bypass when it's done. J

How bad is the existing piece on the car? Is it just spider-webbed? Torn? Is a big chunk missing?
Which body shop are you planning to use?

Roy, thank you so much! (I love this place!) I'll have the body guy check it and then enter a bid.

Jason, it's been chunked -- could be repaired but I'd rather hold that in reserve for if it can't be done "right". I'll use Barry, the body man in the shop that works next to and with EPE in Natick -- good reputations in this part of the state. Out in the Berkshires, who would you use? J

Out here I would use Automobile Associates in Canton, CT but when I lived in Worcester and my driver side rear quarter panel was backed into at 1mph I had Barry nextdoor to EPE fix it (he also did my 3.8RSR wing).
