Anyone have any period correct 964 photos? Pics from back in the day, old press photos, or maybe even from the dealerships or auto shows in the early 90s? It would be really cool to see Porsche's auto show booths with the 964 on display. Love to see the lives these cars used to live. These are a few I've stumbled upon online (not my photos).
Cool thread! Personally I like these types of pictures to baseline what our cars should look like as they left the factory. With so many 964’s in disrepair and unscrupulous dealers that are buying cheap, poorly repairing and then selling it makes it that much more important to know what you’re looking at.
Seeing that auto show pic makes me realize just how far Porsche has come with their marketing machine. That booth looks pretty basic for a high end car manufacturer!
I have amassed several of the brochures from 1990 but my past efforts to transfer them to digital hasn’t worked out well. I’ll look into it again and see if I can get better pictures/scans.
Went on an 80s/90s Porsche memorabilia rampage this evening and picked up a collection of posters/brochures/calendars/advertising material related to the 964. Will sort through it in the morning and post any pics of interest.
Pretty obvious where they staged each car before moving into their final position. I put it at about 5:30 on the clock face. That area looks like a bigger version of my garage floor. :-)
