Default Rear OE retractable spoiler - picture request please!

Hello all,

One of the winter projects on the list was removing the RS style aftermarket fixed spoiler and going back to the original power retractable spoiler. I have taken the fixed spoiler off and now in the process of trying to retrofit an original back on. I purchased a spoiler that came with some of the gearing & brackets, but not all. I have ordered a handful of extra parts from ebay and Sunset, so besides some bolts I should have most of the parts I need.

Problem is, I really don't know exactly how this all fits together. If anyone could post some detailed pictures from under their decklid it would be greatly appreciated. Mainly looking to see how the mechanical assembly parts (think the thing with the big geared part) moves and bolts to the actual wing with the smaller gear/transmission, and how the entire assembly comes together and bolts to the decklid. Also need pictures of where & how the microswitches are installed so I can make sure they are correct and functional.

I've searched and searched and haven't found a similar thread here or anywhere online, so thank you in advance

Thank you for the pictures! Very helpful. I have played with this jigsaw puzzle and think I have it correct now (except missing of the proper length bolts on the passenger side). Pictures below

Couple things I am specifically looking for now if anyone has pictures:

- The 'front' microswitch placement - mine is broken, so need to know how to install the new one
- How the spoiler assembly bolts to the decklid - the parts diagram shows a couple of flat spacer looking pieces above and below the bracket that I don't have. Are these thin steel pieces or what's the purpose of them? It looks like these brackets would bolt right on to the decklid. A picture of where the bolts go in would be ideal
- The inner grille that goes under the spoiler - it shows some odd t-handle screws to install (that of course I don't have). Is there a reason I need special screws or could I just source the proper thread bolt for this.

Final question.. It doesn't appear like the outer painted part comes apart from the grill very easily. Should I just paint the whole thing as 1 piece? The car is black anyway .. ?

I’m not sure how much these will help, hopefully they will. Good luck with getting everything back together.

Marine Blue - Thank you for the pictures. Your car looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. Amazing.

Forrest - Vancouver, Canada. I already took the spoiler off the decklid, but it would be easy to put back on. My car is black however - the donor oem spoiler was from another car. It's not an OE RS tail, it's aftermarket but very good quality and fit from what I can see. WIsh I knew before I started this very expensive adventure into going back to OEM.. I will be selling it eventually... I have a ton of extra parts so was going to wait until I was done and pay/list all at once.
