Cool Good price for a flachbau?

PCA classifieds have a 1994 Turbo S Flachbau, apparently unmolested, with 19k miles for $92500. Good price? I seem to recall similar ones on ebay that reached bids much higher. Total sperm mobile.

If genuine yes that is a reasonable price. Based on the strength of the Euro versus the dollar I can see a European based collector snapping it up.
I caveat my statement in saying though it is a huge amount of money to invest in an older model Porsche for a normal person like most of us on Rennlist.

You'll actually get more female attention with a Convirtable than with anything else! Women like to be seen in drop tops...

They could care less about turbos, hp, widebodies... They want wind in the hair!!!

Then again you said sperm.. So you may be looking for different attention all together...

I'm not sure I've ever heard of an RS Turbo. As far as flachbau, check out this site:

Jeff - thanks for the info on the flashbau.

The RS Turbo was only made in 1994. Production run was only 68 cars, so it's quite rare. It basically was a 964 RS with a Turbo engine.

The Flauchbau is actually rarer by 5 according to the information I have seen. The 1992/93 3.3 S 381 hp had a whopping production of 80 cars. 1993/94 had the 3.6 litre with 360 hp, but more torque. The 93 S was apparently more expensive than a new GT2, something like $ 125,000 pounds if I recall correctly. The above article says the Flauchbau was apparently even more expensive. Anyone know what a new one cost back in 1994. I would rather have just a plain ole 3.6 TT or the 3.3 S.

Hey Doug, the pricing is eye popping. The X-88 package brings HP to 385.

Flachbau pricing

Can you imagine checking that box on the order form for the $50K + flatnose option! Oh look there was a $50 "preparation" credit to ease the financial strain.

Problem with this car is that every mile driven decreases the value.

Here's a topic for fodder: would you rather have a Flachbau or an 993 TT S?

Wow. I am not good on my concernsion rates, but the 3.3 S would have costs about $ 190,000 back in 1992/93 model year.

Exclamation Flachbau Sighting!

I had an up-close and personal encounter with a flachbau this week.

My garage has a flachbau in for service. It is not a US car, rather it was shipped to Florida for service. (out of respect for the owners privacy, I'll be intentionally vauge)

The shame of it is that the car is relatively poor shape considering it's value. With approximately 12k miles on the clock, it ran poorly and showed all the usual "failures" associated with not driving a car.

Most disturbing was the body work - it was dinged and dented all over the place! The front bumper was scraped pretty good as well. The longer I looked, the more little things I noticed.

Such a shame to see such a rare car treated so badly. Let's hope the owner decides to spend the money to get the car into shape.

Hate to interrupt.

But may I ask what a 94 RS turbo is? I have seen no reference of it in Adrians book and have never heard of any narrow bodied turbos produced by Porsche.

One other thing I can't agree about women not noticing the difference of a widebody. I have owned several 911's both flared and not. Each a gorgeous Pcar in its own right. The attention I got over the years from women in a widebody Porsche, of all ages, is much different than those in the narrow body. In twenty years of owning these cars I never had a woman make the inferences around the narrow body cars that they did in the widebody. You could be Quasimodo in a widebody and receive offers that I can't discuss on this forum.

Any neglected Porsche is a crime.

Just my 2 cents

It is 92 or US 93 3.3 litre S. with 381 hp. It has rear inlets and is stripped down 1280 kgs if I recall correctly. It is somewhat like the RS as far as being stripped down, but it is definitely a turbo wide body with turbo tail. I believe it also has Speedlines like the 3.6 that was built in 1993.
