D90 Refurb
A slow summer job to return my D90s to their former glory. No rush now I have the Fuchs installed...

I’ll be watching this one closely, I would love to learn how to refinish a set of wheels.
It might be cool to paint the centers the same color as the car depending on the car color. It’s a good look IMHO.

Simply a full refurb inner & outer and paint closest to the original silver..
1: Clean the wheels up.
2: Work through the sanding / wet & dry from 200 to 1500 grade. (Pictures so far are of wheel #1. At first stage of sanding 250 grade. I managed to sand out any scratches.)
3: I have two wheels that have some small rash and scratches on the face. These will require a small amount of filler and sanding.
4: I havent decided whether I will outsource the painting of do it myself. I do have Wurst Silver rattle cans.
Project will take a few months of prep, I’m in no hurry. I might even paint one wheel with the Wurst Silver. I can always sand it back if I am not happy with the outcome.

I had my D90's redone about a year ago and am very happy with the way they turned out. At the moment I like the updated "retro" look they provide. Of course - your fuchs are amazing too. I guess you can never have too many wheel choices!
Good luck and look forward to seeing the finished product.

Not long after buying my Targa I found myself with three different sets of wheels for the car. I told my wife these wheels are like your shoes, you can’t have just one set and I got the .
Odd because I never had that issue with any other car.

D90's also available in a 9'...... fitted to 944 S2 and Turbos (7.5 front and 9' rear). I picked up a set recently. Yes, the offsets are correct for a 964 and will fit (ET52 for the 9's)
The fronts are 7.5 ET65 but these should fit also.

Hey MB, wheel #1 doesn't need any filler. All the minor scratches have been sanded out. I have two of the four wheels that need a small amount of Isopon alloy filler. A useless local tyre (tire) shop burred the wheels putting on tyres. Denial of course!

Cool, thanks for the info! I did read that two of your wheels had been nicked which lead to my question, the wheel in your picture looks to be perfect.
