The N-u-r-b-u-r-g-r-i-n-g!
The Nurburgring finally has its public times up on the website.
I have jumped right in and booked a trip starting with a journey there on Sunday July 4th and returning on July 8th.
Things with Paula's MS are getting very difficult and this could be our last trip. I have managed to book a locum for work and a hotel near the 'Ring which we know and which Paula can manage the facilities in.
Naturally, Paula and I would love to have as many Rennlist friends as possible come along with us.
Fuller details to follow, but please come if you can.

I would love to pop over and finally meet you guys in person (well even before July of course) - I would welcome more details when available.
Arjan, I am the slowest driver you will ever meet and will be able to hopefully pass this technique on to the irresponsible John Boggiano.

Better a slower driver then afterward having a body repair bill from more then 10.000 Euro......
I have seen cars on their roof lying next to the guide rail........ stupid people.
Never go on that track when the track is wet. This is the ultimate Russian Roulette.......

I'd be intersted, also a mate of mine with a stryker kit car would be up for hthis I think. Just keep us all posted nearer the time.
Do you get to Oulton John ? I marshal there so can get the odd ticket if you are interested.
Also, how do you become a memeber on rennlist ?

Not this time!!

You simply have to make one more trip in 2005... I plan to come to Europe for Le Mans (actually it is my 11 year wedding anniversary, and my 10 year Leukemia Free anniversary rolled into one.)
I was going to put up a post later this year to ask anyone going to Le Mans 2005 if we could tag along since I've never been before and wanted to go with someone who knows the ropes...
So I'm not getting all worked up about Nurburgring this time
Cheers!

John, Sunday 4th is a full day, Mon 5th a half day and Sat 3rd only 5-7:30pm. Any reason you did not choose a full open weekend?

Actually, I have started a thread on this on our dedicated Nurburgrins smartfroup as we are a bit off-topic here. Can we debate over there please.

Take a date which is pretty secure about the weather. It should be at least dry on the track to have fun. If the track is wet, I will not acces the track at all. I made already a 360 at a dry track, so imagine what a wet track will bring for danger!

I once arrived back at the car park having scared myself witless on a damp Hocheichen, to be accosted by Nick Faure (I believe) who told me, 'Hocheichen will be treacherous today!'
At the time, I thought how experienced he was to say such a thing at that moment. Much later, I realised he had probably been behind me and seen it!
Don't worry, Arjan - that was a lesson learned! No visible difference between nice, grippy surface and ice-like surface! I have done it in the wet since, but at a snail's pace. In the dry, I increase to tortoise pace.
