Default Oil Cooler fan resistor

Trying to work out an alternative to the Porsch (expensive) oil fan resistor. I checked Bergvillfx site and he suggests a resistor value of 0,45Ohm og 52,5W, Just wondered if anyone had used any of the following two, and if they are the correct type. Any advise appreciated.

Arcol HS100 Series Aluminium Housed Axial Wire Wound Panel Mount Resistor, 500mΩ ±5% 100W

Ohmite 850 Series Anodized Aluminium, Metal Axial, Solder Wire Wound Panel Mount Resistor, 100kΩ ±1% 50W

The two you have shown are the wrong value. You need 0.5 Ohm 50 Watt, not 100KOhm or 500mOhm.

okay, thanks. I was a bit confused by how 0.5 Ohm is written, I assumed 500mOhm was 0.5Ohm!

I cannot seem to find anything lower than 1Ohm, is it advisable to use this or must it be 0.5Ohm

That's good to know, thanks. I will get the 1 Ohm/ 50w one and try it.
