Have you tried contacting ZF/Sachs directly and asking them for a release bearing that is 5.5mm longer than "3151 227 001"?

I just sent them an email but I doubt they make custom pieces...
Why do you say 5.5mm as the total spacers added is 7mm?

Hey HDA;

Did you ever solve this? I think the issue is that you used the later flywheel and/or clutch. To run a 964 3.6 engine (dual 60:2 triggers required) with an early style bellhousing (87-89 G50, plus 1989 964 C4 only! G50), you need to use a 1989 964 C4 flywheel, and the 3.2G50 / 89 C4 clutch package plus starter, then everything should align correctly.

Cheers,
Lukas
