The 964 platform responds so well to simple mods like upgraded motor mounts, steering rack brace and bushings, tie rods, Wong chip and muffler bypasses. Totally changes everything.
Like motor mounts, I think the function first trans insert (orange - soft) bumps up the connection to the car, but isn't harsh to people that like RS or Wevo MM. People are missing out on this great mod.
I completely neglected the transmission mounts.
I'll need to do these soon too.
And I have not heard of Function First, so I will give them a look!

Did you install your brakes yet?
I bought both the Black and Blue.
Was going to start with Blue and try Black if I didn't like it.
But I love it.
My car is already a very "harsh" street car - and with no radio, and emphasis on lightness.
The NVH from the engine mounts is welcomed.
New brake rotors/pads/fluid go on in 2 weeks.
Going to try a new shop in Denver, and also have them undo the crazy wiring I discovered when deleting the dash.

For my own edification what were the oem mounts like? My car came with the Wevo blue along with primary and secondary muffler deletes so i'm curious. (I could've messaged on IG but since i'm here LOL)
Well the oem mounts were extremely soft.
After I pulled them out, I could easily manipulate the mounting rod with my hands.
Granted they were blown out and not functioning as intended.
They just numbed everything out in the cabin.
Connection between shifter, gas pedal and engine wasn't apparent.
Now I can feel my inputs, and their immediate output.

I think you will love it. But don't get greedy, chose the soft one: http://www.function-first.com/produc...s-mount-insert

Nicely described. Totally agree.

Here is what the interior looks like after the lower dash delete.
Also Rennline passenger block off plate.
Ignore the wiring - that will all be cut out/tidied up in 2 weeks.
Here's the before:

And then the after:

Note the exposed channel in the center console if you remove the "bridge" piece I noted.
This would be fixed with some RS carpets...

Winter Projects mostly complete.
Just got the car back after replacing the brake pads, rotors and fluid.
The shop also fixed the wiring issue with the keyless entry system - removing it, and cleaned up the mess greatly.
The only other thing I need to be ready for a long drive is new tires.
My first planned Rally was in late April, but has been postponed.
So I will have to plan something else.

After deleting the lower dash, I didn't expect the center tunnel and passenger footwell to look so exposed and unfinished.
So I purchased a set of cashmere pieces from an '89 - since they didn't include the larger dash, and covered up more of the components.
Here is the result.
Looks finished and proper now.

Interior is done done.
Finished off with the center console switch plate fix by David Etter.
Now my broken switch plate, actually sits flush with the console trim.

New tires next, then lots of driving this Summer.

Long time, no update.
Roads in Colorado are finally drying out, the sand is getting pushed to the edge, and mountain passes are opening.
Great time to enjoy the car.
Here is a recent photo from a time spent with local photographer @reed_greiter
