I'm a buyer when these are ready.

Is there a functional purpose obtained other than aesthetic appearance? |
This is a great option for cracked plastic. I like the new hardware.

Really like this- are the kits still available?
My reflector is in great condition- but might be something cool to have to switch to when the feeling is right. Maybe that's crazy- but it could be cool to go "outlaw" and back to OE haha |
Just got new frame style from laser-cutter. Looks AWESOME! and doesn't need the around trim. Anyone who wants to try it with the previous full panel replacement kit sold years ago, please let me know. Will assemble tonight and post pictures soon.
Thanks! Andrew |
Looking forward to pics!

Very happy with the frame, 95% there with the design and hardware :)

That looks great Andrew. What level of prep is needed on the old center reflector? I assume trim/sand the bits of plastic left where the old reflector joins the housing, anything else? |

Thanks for the interest. Material used this time around is 3mm mat black acrylic. It follows the shape of the car very well, can take some serious abuse and the thickness allows to sink the hardware in making it look very OEM. Looks like a real product from any distance. Hardware will be all black anodized countersunk aluminium allen bolts. They will screw in to flanged receivers mounted from behind the OEM panel. 4 holes will need to be drilled in the panel using supplied guide. The prep of the OEM panel is simple but time consuming. After, you'll need to seal the "reverse" and "fog light" lenses from moisture using 3M trim adhesive. I will make a video tutorial of the process and will supply all the rubber trim to pretty-up the cut edges. I can offer this as a DIY kit or as a service to anyone who doesn't want to get their hands dirty. The very last thing I am still working on is the type of fastener that will keep the left and right edges aligned to the OEM back panel. Currently I have another counter sunk allen bolt, but drilling on the edge of the panel might pose a problem for some and I'm hoping to find an easier way.
This will be a limited run DIY kit, and he rehab service will be a VERY limited offer and only during winter. Thanks! Andrew |
