Weight Reduction
I thought I'd post the results so far for my cars 'diet'.
Remove A/C condensor:18 lbs.
Remove Heater fan and pipe: 5.5 lbs
Add CF cup heater bypass pipe: +100 grams
Remove Fan & evaporator from front fender: 13.5 lbs
Remove A/C piping from rear and side: 2 lbs
So, I've removed about 40 lbs from climate control stuff thats not required in a track car. I'm sure I'll be at least 0.01 sec faster now.

Thanks for keeping us posted on the project Tom. I'm trying to convince my wife it makes sense to convert the 964 into a designated track car. It's such a slope, I don't even want to get close until I get the approval.

Phil, given my skill level I'm not sure I'd notice a performance difference made by 200 lbs of weight loss.
I pulled most of the stuff out before my first track outing with the car so I have no comparative experience with the A/C installed. I sure as hell hope I get a noticeable difference in the braking from that change! While I seldom need heat in the car, I may take it for a drive just to see what the lack of blower etc does to the heating (the car is licensed for the street).
