Momo Steering Wheel Install
Note - I already did a ton of searching/reading, but didn't find the answer to this.
Installing a Prototipo in my 964. I need to disable the airbag light and read there's a bridge plug 928.612.220.00 that I can plug into the center console. Easy peasy!
Question is this - is this bridge plug simply a jumper wire connecting pins 3 & 4 together? The middle 2? If so - why do I need to order a $45 plug when I can make a jumper wire and fasten it in?
I'll buy the plug if I have to, but I'm also impatient and want to install the wheel tomorrow
Thanks in advance..

Agreed...I used the bridge plug. Very straightforward once you locate the connection on the passenger side right below the shifter/center console
just to be clear...here is the part I used...only fits one way. Make sure to do this while the battery is disconnected and before removing the airbag, as that will avoid the light going on when done!

Bridge plug is the way to go and it is $35 @ Sunset or Sonnen. I ran without it for a week with the airbag and seatbelts lights on, then put the plug in and the lights went off.

Thanks guys. I guess I can still install today and just run with the light on for a week or so until the plug shows up.
My question was more to know if the plug was simply a jumper wire connecting those 2 pins.. Nothing more nothing less. Would be very easy to grab a wire with 2 female bullet ends and snap it on.

From my reading I thought you had to wire in resistors to disable just the drivers side and keep the passenger working. And the bridge plug disables the whole system even if the passenger side one remains in place.

The bridge plug kills the whole system. Just keep in mind if you have the light come on , I believe you need to clear the abs failure code to get the light to go off...AFAIK ie putting the bridge in after the light goes on doesn’t turn the light off

The bridge plug works great if your intent is to disable both airbags. If you want to retain passenger airbag functionality, I would simply get a resistor to jump the factory driver side airbag harness: https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...l#post13673972

My airbag light was on along with the seatbelt one when I ran with the passenger airbag disconnected, and both lights went off when I added the bridge plug a week later. Mine is a 1991 if that matters.

Quick followup for future people searching for the same solution - upon more reading the 'bridge' that is sold is simply JUST a wire bridging pins 3 & 4, which disconnects the airbags. I figured I'd try to just bridge the wire, and if it didn't work, then I could order the bridge part and install after.
My solution: 3" of wire and 2 male bullet connectors. I used my vice to squeeze them together to form a 'pin' so they would fit snug in the female hole (where the bridge would normally insert into)
Result: perfect - no lights, no warning buzzers, and no issues. The connection is solid and no chance of it coming loose.
I was happy - saved $45.50 on Pelican and installed on the weekend vs waiting.

All done! Next is spray the aluminum on the shift **** to match the black aluminum on the wheel... but that's a winter project. Such a better feeling driving with the Momo wheel vs the massively bulky and heavy airbag wheel
