Default fuel filter, how clogged is clogged...

just replaced mine and old one still lets air through when you blow into it but very restricted compared to new one...i am sure new one is easier when still dry and new but trying to get a feel for how far gone old one is and am i on the right track, also have no clue as to age of old one...and as always, tia, kk

No idea what's inside these particular filters but could you not find a safe way to cut it open and have a look inside?

I too have a fuel filter of unknown age in my car I'm keen to replace.

Yes you should replace it! Mine sprang a leak and sprayed gasoline all over the inside of the engine compartment! Scared the hell out of me.

Bridge the DME relay and look for 3.8 ± 0.2 bar with the fuel pump running. Otherwise the regular maintenance interval is 40,000Km/24,000miles.

where do they leak from, seem to be pretty solidly made...and to spray all over the engine compt...what is the fuel pressure from the pump?

Mine must have been ancient. The metal just got thin near and it leaked at the crimped edge.

My guess is that it was installed at the factory!
