They don’t have it and neither does LA Dismantler. I need to try DC Auto tomorrow.

You could also try calling Sierra Madre Collection or Einmaligparts. I've never dealt with either but their name pop up often when searching for parts.

Sierra Madre Collection sources their parts from Porsche directly so the have the same NLA status as most other vendors. Einmalig's Parts must be gold plated platinum because they quoted me $550 EACH USED, Dealer List price is $266. In lieu of spending $1100 ill just keep replacing the $50-$80 brass gears in the electric motors.

I'm having slight issues too. I might have it working. We usually had the rear transmission on manual and the front motors on electric.
But If I lived in Encinitas again i would be using my top daily. Who works on the 911's in North County?

That’s how I have mine setup and the gears still strip. I’m the one who works on my 911, no one else.

I built endless cabs. The speedster was manual and no headaches.
The front gears should not strip. There are brass washers front and back that keep the release motor quiet.
The rear arms have adjustment points to drop the top perfect on the windshield frame.
lol, i'm not perfect, mine could be screwed up next time i open her.

Finally have been able to source the right side latch used for a decent price. Question now is how to remove the parts from the windshield header? I can see the one fastener but how do you access the bolt behind the upholstery? I don't want to just start prying on stuff and damage anything. Any tips?

Interesting thread and having had a partially manual roof for nigh on 20 yrs I guess I should go all the way at some stage. I do have an enquiry into DCAuto as to whether they still do their kits, but do not see them on their site.

Question - the part numbers referenced above for the "964 Targa Latch" also say that those parts fit the 964 Cab. Do we need to change these or is it, as I think I read from JJMCD's threads a question of retaining the original cab latch plates on the windshield frame and adjusting the fit on the Cab Top rollers?

Subject to whether those Latches - 91156173003 and 91156172903 are needed. am I correct in thinking the shopping list is
Right and Left Targa Top Catch 96456503200 and 96456503100
Targa Handles - 2 (although at least one Rennlister uses one for both sides) 91156507562
Bezels - Cab are neater, targa still work

Am I missing anything?

Thanks!

Q: Are shims needed between convertible frame and latch? 911.565.707.01

One final question. My 1991 Cab windshield frame latches do look different to the ones of both Eric and JJMcD?

I believe the Targa guides are different, these are mine (pardon the dust )

See here as well for additional pic and part# (passenger side) but I think they may be NLA

I am using a single Targa handle to lock the top in place, no need for 2.

So does anyone know how to get to this bolt?? How do you remove the trim that’s covering it?

I meant to reply earlier but I got sidetracked. Looking at this listing from eBay , it looks like that panel is held in by the sun visor screws. Perhaps there are a couple clips or some adhesive to deal with, but my guess is that you should be able to gently pop that panel if you remove the 4 sun visors screws (+ maybe 1 or 2 for the dome light). Looking at my cab, I don't see anything else obvious holding that panel in place.
