On my 1994 RS America, out of the blue, the rubber ducting leading to the rear heater blower ruptured. It is the rubber that straddles the fan shroud and leads to the intake of the blower mechanism. The condition of the rubber was not that bad -- pretty supple.
The part is not that expensive ($35), but I'd rather not replace it more than once. From reading Mr. Streather's book, I learn that the rear blower mechanism has baffles in it that control the airflow. Could there be an operational problem with the baffles, or some other issue that caused the ducting rupture?
Ideas?
Thanks in advance...

I seem to remember that this has been an issue with a number of 993s and that heat was considered to be the culprit. Not sure what you can do about that, but it might be worth a search of the 993 forum.
