Oil Filler neck chewing gum?

Oil Filler neck chewing gum?
While changing my oil this weekend, I noticed a light gray sticky substance (like chewing gum) around the base of my Oil filler neck. It looks like it had been painted over, but I cracked off some of the paint when I wiped the area with a rag. Has anyone else noticed this on their 964? I'm afraid the area may have been repaired with this sticky stuff. So far, there are no leaks apparent in this area.

Dear Andy,
This is as far as I can see a legitimate repair in accordance with section 53 Body-rear section of the factory manual when replacing the threaded section of the oil filler neck. Never seen one before thanks for sharing that.

Nope all the manual says is that it is a 2-part adhesive. Obviously has to be oil resistant. The only adhesive number I can find is 999.915.359.40.
