I think replacing the steering wheel is the very best first option, followed by a good set of adjustable pedals.
Dukmon--what's involved with replacing the black plastic door pulls with the drilled aluminum ones in your photo? How much of the door panel needs to be removed to switch those out?

Some great suggestions...really like the aluminum trim pieces and matching inserts for seats and door cards. Have these projects been DIY or are you having the work done? Curious what kind of shop would specialize in this, as I obviously would be choosy about who I'd let open her up!

I cannot speak for the pedals but all the other trim pieces are certainly DIY items. The door pieces take about 30 minutes each. The bezel trim and lock pins take less than a minute.

Hey, easy there......
Sometimes wearing brightly colored golf shorts and a loud exhaust doesn't get the attention some require !

Does the entire door panel need to be removed to get enough access to remove/replace the door pulls with the drilled aluminum pieces? This looks like one of those jobs that looks easy but requires a lot of disassembly to get to where you need to go.

Burning Brakes
Realistically you only need to pull the door pockets. Looking underneath the handle/release assembly, remove the circlip and the pin should be able to drop free and the handle slide out once disconnected from the release. Reverse for install.

I found the interior work in my 964 to be really gratifying. My stock interior was full burgundy, so quite strong. Burgundy steering wheel, carpets, dash, seats....it was a little barf-tacular.
I never liked the interior carpet, which was quite worn and faded. So, I took the carpets completely out, thinking I'd replace with a grey sliverknit. After driving sans carpets for a few days, I really loved the clean, raw feel and simplicity of no carpets at all. My original seats were in fair shape, but just felt tired and dated to the 90's, which isn't bad, but not what I wanted. I started with a Momo wheel and sort of went from there. I definitely took a more minimalist approach and removed the radio. Doing so necessitated recovering the door cards to cover the speaker holes.
Still have a few things I want done. If you do leather work, source all of it at the same time to avoid mismatches. You'll see in my pics how I learned that lesson!
Have fun with it and make it your own.

I need to replace my shift ****. I am looking for one with the shift pattern and preferably not shiny and not retro. I have heard that some are not easy to fit and take some modification which of course would be great to avoid. The interior of my car is all grey leather.
Any and all suggestions welcome, thank you
