Yes I have a coupe, my son paid 9,000 for her in 2010 or 2011 she had been severely neglected. He gave her to me in 2013 and since then I have put over 15,000 into her fixing neglected stuff and repainting her back to her original Mint Green some dill hole painted blue in 1998. She is not for sell at any price 😎
Thank you for your time this is a very interesting thread.

Ok,
BTW the price was unusual also in 2013. The engine was resealed in 2012, the color is not original but the painting job is perfect, I added 5k to reach a perfect overall condition.

Alright - let's see how well it does with an actual sale. BAT has a cabriolet currently for sale: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...911-carrera-4/
Sale Year 2018
1992
Cabriolet
c4
Manual
76,000 miles.
The model predicts the sale price will be $50,447.
I think it should be a little under that due to some items needing to be taken care of (according to the PPI) and incorrect tires although the blue color is pretty rare and could drive up the price.

Running the numbers (lifted from your original post) I found the formula's price for my 2006 purchase was about 15% higher than I actually paid -- which is a pretty damned good estimation.
That mileage 'cost' of 13.27 cents/mile has taken its toll!
Having driven 40,000 miles (since 2006) has 'cost' my car's value by $5,306.
My miles driven per year have been fairly constant at 3,333, or $442. (not bad! Hell, that pales to maintenance-parts costs.)
Given that, my car only started appreciating (per the OP's numbers) in 2013-2014 -- a 7-8 year wait. Not that I'm bitching -- those between years were a VERY nice wait!
Of course, as we all know, those appreciation numbers really took off in 2015.
(And, yes, -- guilty -- I make my living with numbers. Engineer-type, here.)
