Painting the girls’ bathroom, not the 964
Thanks for the interest Dingo!
Sadly little progress this week as Mrs. Foxman decided that the house needed a spring refresh. Instead of painting the 964, I painted the girl’s bathroom.
Track season starts this weekend with a PCA event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. So the 964 won’t be getting much attention this weekend.
Hopefully next week I can begin paintkmg in earnest.
Oh Sweet, are you taking the 993?

I did did pick up a set of Schroth Profi II GT3 harnesses for the 964 today. That should help motivate the seat selection process.
i also ordered a set of LED running/brake lights from Bergvill FX. Looking forward to getting the 964 back on the road. She was my daily drive last summer.

Yes Sir, the 993 is finally back in the road and ready for track duty after a suspension overhaul. The project went way over budget, however, and that’s slowing things down for the 964.

Nice one, looking forard to seeing what kind of seats you go with. I think that will be next on my list once I've got mine going again.
Man couldn' think of anything better than driving a 964 everyday! My daily drive is a fiat scudo haha!

I saw saw a pair of the Cobra Suzuka Pro Fit Seats in an older 911. The seats were very wide for the car, and rather uninspiring. The Kirkey seats look pretty good, but not enough headroom and I want something more driver friendly for daily use.
Here are a few pics:

Fiat Scudo, nice. Twice the weight, and half the horse power, LOL.

I'm really confused about seats at the moment... Can't be bothered saving for pole positions, thinking a pair of nz made lightweights for quarter of the price!
Great pics, that green car looks pretty wild!

Add in 1000kg of plumbing gear and you get the slowest fiat van in the southern hemisphere

Back on task, I spent much of the day doing the final sanding by hand with some 150 grit sandpaper. Next I turned my attention to the wire looms. They were a a mess after being exposed to glue, and the dust and debris from the wire brush, including hot rubber.
So I removed the gooey friction tape. Next I gave the wires a quick wipe down with a paper towel moistened with some alcohol to remove most of the residue. Then I went to work re-wrapping the looms with electrical tape and friction tape. The last step is wrapping the looms in foil making ready for the paint. Still a bit more hand sanding to do, and then a final clean and wipe down. Then tape and masking, then plastic wrap for a paint booth, and then ...

You unwrapped the entire interior harness, then wiped down each individual wire? Madness! I commend your commitment Foxman.
For what it's worth, 4k to paint the interior seems insanely expensive. Id consider getting a couple more quotes. Less than half that should get it done properly now that you've done the hard part, the prep work.

Thanks, greatly appreciated. But I'm fully committed as I have already purchased the 2K paint and can't turn back now. The custom paint and primer alone cost close to $400, but I purchased extra for a roll bar. For what it's worth, Mike's Auto Body of Malden would be the first place I'd go for a quote. They did a 3/4 respray on my 993, and I'm very pleased with the final result.
