This thread has been so awesome. Great work.
Keep it up!
I haven't posted much here. But I've been following it closely since it came to the radar. Unbelievable job. I'm excited for you. This is going to be an incredibly enjoyable car and experience.

So the car was sadly towed back to Eurotech where we’ll have another go at it. It was an OEM seal, but not genuine Porsche. There is a difference.
There was some concern that the sunroof delete may have somehow changed the dimensions, but we test fit the windshield and it looks to be a perfect fit. Reinstalling these windshields is part science, and part art.
And frankly I’m glad that the windshield didn’t fit back in. While they pulled the tape off the inside of the windshield frame a bit of paint peeled off revealing some bare metal. On closer inspection there was rust lurking underneath. As I sanded it down, it became clear there was a real rust problem here. I’m glad that we caught this. The rust was pretty deep in some spots, but I feel that I rooted out as much as I could safely get.
Glad that I caught this
Looks like bare metal and glue but
Also some rust there
Had to grind this out

Here’s the test fit on the windshield. The gaps look neat perfect, and I’m hoping we can the glass back in with a stock seal without any drama.
Glass fits fine, phew!
No change in the roof line here

And thanks for the kind words Goughary, high praise from you Sir. It was good meeting you at Palmer Motorsports. I hope our paths cross again soon.

The new lexan windows from Plastics 4 Performance will be here next week. But first I need to paint the roll bar and interior. I’m steeling myself for this next phase. Then comes the new suspension, and the real fun...
And keep up the great work on your 964. She’s a sleeping beauty that one.

The glass man is two weeks behind schedule. The shop was too crowded, so I drove Wilbur home without the windshield. It was 43 degrees, and quite brisk with the wind. Car is home safely. I’m putting together a paint booth in the garage to respray the interior. Lots of work ahead.

Ha, definitely not something I want to do on a regular basis. Kind of like riding a four wheeled motorcycle.

The wife’s in Natucket with the girls and I took over the garage. She’s not going to be happy with the paint booth.
I need to strip the car down again, remove the harnesses, and spend a few hours sanding and prepping the car. Not looking forward to doing this a second time, but I can’t wait to have the roll bar painted.
Took over the garage
Paint booth just about done
